One million digital Covid-19 certificates issued in Latvia

RIGA - The number of digital Covid-19 certificates issued on covid19sertifikats.lv website has reached one million already, LETA was told at the National Health Service. 

Over 498,000 residents of Latvia have received one or several digital certifications confirming vaccination against Covid-19, a negative test result or a recovery from the virus.

More than 848,000 certificates have been issued to confirm vaccination against Covid-19, over 117,000 certificates have been issued to confirm a negative test result and over 45,000 certificates have been issued to people who have had Covid-19. 

Meanwhile, people who do not use the internet or online banking services can receive their Covid-19 certificates at Riga's municipal centers, large cities' information centers and the state client service centers. Over 22,000 Covid-19 certificates have so far been issued at these centers. 

As reported, Latvia's national digital Covid-19 vaccination certificate was launched on Tuesday, June 1.

The certificate is available on the website www.covid19sertifikats.lv. Vaccinated persons and those who have recovered after being infected with Covid-19 can view their own certificates as well as those of their dependents on this website.

The website states that there are three types of certificates available - a certificate of vaccination against Covid-19, a certificate of the results of Covid-19 laboratory tests, and a certificate of the fact that the persons has recovered from Covid-19. The required certificate can be presented in a digital form or downloaded and printed out. At the same time, it is possible to verify the presented certificate or check its validity by scanning the QR code of the certificate.
