From January to October 2020, 14,878 births were registered, and that is 5.8 percent or by 916 babies less than in the first ten months of 2019, according to the Central Statistical Bureau.
In October, 1,375 births were registered, down 11.9 percent or 185 babies from the respective month in 2019.
At the same time, in the first ten months of this year 22,958 deaths were registered, by 0.4 percent or 82 deaths less than in the respective period last year. The number of deaths in October reached 2,311, or by 0.9 percent or 20 deaths more year-on-year.
