Number of births keeps dropping in Latvia

The number of births keeps dropping in Latvia, according to the Central Statistical Bureau. Birth number keeps declining since 2016. In 2017, 20,800 children were born, which is 1,100 children fewer than in 2016. Provisional data of 2018 show that the number of births will not reach 20,000 and birth number may account for 1,200 births fewer than a year ago.
