RIGA - Nomination for the post of the Saeima National Security Committee chair does not preclude Inara Murniece (National Alliance) from becoming a minister, National Alliance vice-chairman Janis Dombrava believes.
The MP indicated that government formation talks are ongoing and it is not yet clear how much more time they will require.
"All options are possible," Dombrava said.
According to unconfirmed reports, Murniece is regarded as a candidate to take the helm of one of the so-called power ministries. Most probably, the former Saeima speaker might become Latvia's next defense minister.
Latvian Television reported, citing unofficial sources, that coalition partners have agreed that Murniece will be chairing the Saeima National Security Committee.
