VILNIUS – Nobel Prize winner Svetlana Alexievich is expected to visit Lithuania's second-biggest city of Kaunas later in September, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) said on Tuesday.
The Belarusian writer will start her visit by taking part in Seteniai Readings, a new series of events organized by VMU in Seteniai, a village near Kaunas where Nobel Prize-winning poet Czeslaw Milosz was born, on September 21 and 22.
As part of her visit to Kaunas, the Belarusian author, journalists and screenwriter who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2015 will be presented with the university's honorary doctorate degree.
A public meeting with her is scheduled for September 22.
