HELSINKI - Finland's Simetron Group is planning to launch sales of Hyundai vehicles in the Baltics, the daily Helsingin Sanomat reported.

Simetron is currently selling Suzukis in the Baltic countries on the basis of a contract with the manufacturer signed in 1997.
Simetron managing director Mikko Ennevaara believes there will be a strong growth in car sales in the Baltics in the next few years and wants to ensure a strong position for Hyundai in these three countries.
Ennevaara said that the firm had a competition advantage with its connection to the existing Suzuki dealerships chain. He explained that the firm had a good dealership chain in Estonia and that it wanted to build car salons in the capital cities of Latvia and Lithuania as well.
In accordance with the liberalization of the motor market of the EU, manufacturers may no longer define the market area of an importer or distributor.
