TALLINN - The owner and chairman of the supervisory council of Saaremaa Laevakompanii (Saare-maa Shipping Company), Vyacheslav Leedo, said this week that the sale of the company to Tallinna Sadam (Port of Tallinn) was not ruled out.

"All scenarios are possible - starting from SLK continuing operations on commercial premises - and sale of a part or all of the company cannot be ruled out either. Everything depends on negotiations and concrete interest," Leedo said.
If Port of Tallinn is interested, the parties need only to agree on the price, he said.
Port of Tallinn board member Allan Kiil said that SLK's possible acquisition by the port was an attractive alternative should the ongoing tender for a purchase of a ferry fail.
