Profits lift off in Estonia

Last week Estonian Air announced that it more than doubled its net profit in 2003 compared with the previous year.

Erki Urva, president of the airline, said that the company ended 2003 with a net profit of 81.4 million kroons (5.2 million euros).
Last year the carrier handled a total of 388,700 passengers on regular flights, a 30.5 percent year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, the company saw a decrease of 2.5 percent in the number of charter passengers to 21,950 people.
