Checking reality out against the clock

RIGA - A couple of days ago I had a free half hour or so to quickly go and see the new exhibit "Reality Check." As I rushed around the Arsenals gallery, quickly trying to take it all in, I ended up thinking more about the process of viewing art, than the actual works on exhibit.We go to a gallery and are supposed to "react" to the art. We may stand there and stare at it, we may ponder it, we may try to "engage" with it, but the whole process is a strangely forced one.
