Estonian budget gap 3.45 percent of GDP

TALLINN (BNS) - The government sector's budget deficit in the January
- September period, at 2.63 billion kroons ($182.64 million), formed
3.45 percent of this year's anticipated gross domestic product.

According to Estonia's finance ministry data, the shortfall in
September was nearly 254 million kroons.

Local governments' budgets at the end of September were in the red
to the tune of 155.4 million kroons while the central government's
deficit was 2.47 billion kroons.

Of the central government's budget deficit, 766.9 million kroons came
from the gap in the budget of the national social insurance fund and
221.6 million kroons from the health insurance fund shortfall.

In September, expenditures of the state budget, health insurance and
social insurance, as well as of the local governments, exceeded
receipts.

The government sector's consolidated revenues in the nine months
totaled 19.61 billion kroons, forming 63.3 percent of the
consolidated budget target.

The central government's revenues were 16.57 billion with local
governments' revenues at 4.82 billion kroons.
