Cyclist ostracized for doping

RIGAThe back-up sample for cyclist Raimondas Rumsas' doping test has come up positive. Rima Berloviene, anti-doping program senior specialist of the Lithuanian sports department, said on June 30 that the test of Rumsas' sample B, taken in Lausanne, Switzerland, showed that the athlete had taken Erythropoietin, also known as EPO. As a result, Rumsas, who had been temporarily suspended by the Italian Lampre team for failing a doping test at last month's Giro d'Italia, has been kicked off the team for good.
