POLICE PRUNING: Estonia's ruling coalition has backed a plan by Interior Minister Juri Mois to trim the country's police forces by more than 500 officers. Jurgen Ligi, of the Reform Party, said Mois managed to persuade those attending the coalition meeting that the reduction will not lead to a rise in crime. Ligi noted that the figures unveiled by Mois - 536 jobs - are preliminary targets that are not etched in stone.
