VILNIUSThree-quarters of Lithuanians think that bribery is an effective way to solve problems with the country's civil servants, according to a recent study.The latest major study on corruption - the "Corruption Map of Lithuania - 2002" - was conducted by the corruption watchdog Transparency International's Lithuania office and funded by the U.S. Embassy and the Lithuanian government.One of the most shocking finds in the report was that two-thirds of individuals and business people are prepared to use bribes when necessary.
