A detained Lithuanian citizen spying for Belarus was interested in air traffic control in Lithuania, members of Lithuania's State Security Department said on Monday.

The officials also said that one more person was detained for spying for a foreign country, however, a case against him has not been brought to court yet.

VSD head Gediminas Grina informed reporters that the entire counter-intelligence operation had lasted for more than three years.

According to Grina, the information gathered by the spy was not necessarily classified, yet, a body of any information collected piece by piece regarding an object or activity of strategic importance is extremely valuable to foreign structures.
