RIGA - The United States and Great Britain are planning to maintain a permanent presence of troops in Latvia as part of the measures to reinforce NATO allies in Eastern Europe, the Defense Ministry’s spokesman Kaspars Galkins told LETA.Several NATO member states could deploy their military personnel in the Baltic countries next year, but so far only the United States and Great Britain have confirmed their plans to do so, explained Galkins.
