VIDEO: Lithuania loses to U.S in heated world cup semi final

Lithuania lost to the U.S.A at the basketball World Cup semi finals in Barcelona on Thursday night.

Bad shooting, poor rebounding and turnovers cost the Lithuanian team dearly after they lost 68-96. Lithuania hit 15 of 38 two-point shots (39 percent) and just two of 18 three-pointers (11 percent). Lithuania grabbed 38 rebounds against 50 of the USA, and made 21 turnovers.

Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Jonas Valanciunas were Lithuania's top goal scorers both with 15 points. The duo also also grabbed nine and seven rebounds respectively.

Kyrie Irving led team USA in scoring with 18 points. The match was heated at times with video reports showing scuffles between the two teams. 

Lithuania will now play with the loser of France-Serbia semi-final. The game for the bronze medals is on Saturday at 7 pm. Lithuania time.
