Lithuania has condemned the brutal beheading of U.S journalist James Foley by extremist group Islamic State.
A YouTube video showed the journalist kneeling before an IS militant before the latter carries out his act. The video has since been brought down the video sharing website.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania condemns in strongest terms brutal killing of American journalist James Foley. Those responsible for this shameful and heinous act must be found and held accountable," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote in a statement.
The Ministry said it "expressed deep sympathy to James Foley's family, friends, his colleagues, and the American people" and "honors those who risk their lives in war zones in order to report the truth."
