Lithuania, Georgia discuss plans ahead of crucial NATO summit

Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaite has spoken on the phone with President Giorgi Margvelashvili of Georgia to discuss regional security and preparations for the upcoming NATO Summit in Wales on September 4-5.

According to the Lithuanian head of state, it is planned to adopt at the summit a solid package that will enhance Georgia's defense capabilities. In Wales, NATO also intends to confirm its position regarding Georgia's future in the Alliance.

The eurointegration process in Georgia was also discussed during the conversation, the presidents press service announced.

It is essential for Georgia to continue the reforms important for its people and aimed at strengthening democracy and the rule of law in the country, the President underlined.
