Latvia will allot 50,000 euros in humanitarian aid to residents in Gaza, Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkevics has confirmed.

Fighting rages on in Gaza as both sides trade gunfire and rockets. A total of 1,030 Palestinians have been killed during the conflict whilst 6,000 are injured . Around 43 Israeli soldiers and three civilians have also died.

Estonia has granted humanitarian aid of 75,000 euros to Gaza, earlier this month.

At the moment the main problems in Gaza are waste water treatment and access to drinking water, as well as lack of certain medication, Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet said.

Estonia will give the aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
