Latvian airline airBaltic has canceled Riga to Tel Aviv flights today amid the ongoing conflict in the country that has left hundreds dead.

At least 649 Palestinians and 31 Israelis have been killed in the past 15 days of fighting, officials say.

Mainstream U.S., Canadian and European airlines have suspended flights to Israel for at least 24 hours today due to the Gaza conflict.

Meanwhile, Israel indicates that there is no reason to cancel the flights. Israeli national airline El Al has confirmed that it would continue to fly to and from Israel.

Israel launched its offensive on July 8 with the declared objective of stopping rocket fire from Gaza, the BBC reports.
