Hockey star launches exclusive brewery for Latvian market

Latvian hockey star Mikelis Redlihs has launched his own brewery, Mikela Alus, investing 300,000 euros in the project.

The KHL star and Latvian national team member said his brewery would offer one type of beer. Mikela Alus is available in Latvian bars and cafes, but its sale in stores is planned starting from the end of this year.

At present, the brewery produces ten tons of beer a month, but in the future the produced amount is planned to reach 38 tons a month. Currently, the brewer works on making new types of beer; at the end a year a new brand will be available.

Firma. lv informs that Miķeļa alus daritava was registered in Ozolnieki on July 5. Its equity capital is 23, 044 euros.

The company's turnover is EUR 71, 613, and losses are 6,142 euros. The largest shareholder of the company is Redlihs; he owns 67.01% shares, and Einars Jaunbralis owns 32.99% shares.
