Baltic song festivals draw thousands

Up to 100,000 people attended in the Estonian Song and Dance Festival in Tallinn, Estonia over the weekend.

The festival, held for the 19th time, was sold out with an extra 3,000 additional tickets sold in June due to popular demand. More than 10,000 dancers took part in the three performances. There were 40,000 participants performing at the second concert.

Meanwhile, in Lithuania the final day of the Song Celebration 'This is My Home' was held on July 6. The closing ceremony bought together more than 12,000 choristers from 350 choirs  for a final performance.

More than 37,000 people attended the song and dance festival. 

The Song Celebration has been registered in the list of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It was held for the first time in 1924.
