Russian police seize weapons in border crossing

Russian police have arrested a 52 year old man attempting to cross the Estonian- Russian border carrying automatic weapons.

The man was stopped at the Pechersk district of the Pskov region trying to cross into Russia from Estonia in a lorry. A Kalashnikov and three sub machine guns were seized, the Russian Interior Ministry says.

"The staff of the Criminal Investigation Department of Russia in cooperation with colleagues from the Russian FSB and Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Pskov region foiled attempt to import weapons into the territory of the Russian Federation - the Interior Ministry said.
