A growing number of wealthy Russians and Ukrainians concerned about the political and economic instability in their countries are now investing more money into real estate in Estonia, writes Äripäev.

While there has recently been a veritable exodus of Finnish investors from the Estonian commercial real estate market, the influx of Russian capital has gained momentum.

Some of the most significant transactions with commercial real estate during the past six months involved Russian investors: the De la Gardie department store in the Old Town of Tallinn sold by Finnish owners to Russian investors, sale of Cinamon cinemas in Estonia as well as elsewhere in the Baltic States, acquisition of Magnum Medical by Star Investments.
