Subway opens fast food chain in Latvia, creates jobs

Leading U.S fast food chain Subway has opened for the first time in Latvia, creating ten jobs.

A total of 100,000 euros was invested in the development of the fast-food chain the company's franchise representative in Latvia Aigars Kaugars has said.

Subway had opened up a restaurant in Old Town in the late 1990's but eventually closed. The sandwich chain currently has 4,018 fast-food restaurants in Europe.

Last spring, Subway opened its first restaurant in Estonia.

The new ''Subway'' restaurant in Riga has been opened on Zigfrida Anna-Meierovica Boulevard 12 next to Old Town.
