173rd Airborne Brigade lands in Latvia

High-ranking officials will participate in a ceremony at the Adazi military base on April 25 to welcome the arrival of the U.S. Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade troops in Latvia, reports LETA.

Defense Minister Raimonds Vejonis (Greens/Farmers), U.S. Ambassador to Latvia Mark Pekala and Estonian Defense Forces Commander, Major General Riho Terras will participate in the ceremony.

150 U.S. troops arrived in Latvia on April 24 to participate in military training exercises. The troops will remain in Latvia at least until the end of this year.
