The first death this season from influenza was registered last week - a 45-year-old woman, who had pre existing health issues as well. She had not been vaccinated.
Overall, the number of flu sufferers in Latvia is decreasing. However, there are enough serious cases to demand hospitalization. Last week, 15 were admitted, six more than the week before.
