Exhibition for fashion and textile industry professionals

The  International Textile  Industry Exhibition "Baltic Fashion & Textile Riga 2014," the most  significant  spring  event  for  fashion  and  textile  industry  professionals  of  the Baltic  region, will  take  place  from April 4-6  at  the  International  ExhibitionCenter  in Kipsala, Riga. 

For  the  first  time  the  Latvian  and  Lithuanian  organizers  of  the  biggest  textile  industry exhibitions have  joined  forces  to present  the achievements of  the Baltic  textile  industry and the competitiveness of its products, as well as to  introduce the versatility and the high quality of the local products, appreciated by professionals and consumers all over the world. 

"Baltic  Fashion  &  Textile  Riga"  is  an  important meeting  place  for  industry  professionals  to present their products and services, acquire new business contacts and cooperation partners, find out the novelties of the industry by attending the international conference and workshops as well as  to see  the  latest creations of young  fashion designers at  the competition "Habitus Baltija 2014" that is organized in the framework of Riga, the European Capital of Culture 2014 events.  

Wide choice of fabrics, sewing accessories and ready-made garments

The exhibition has many offers for sewing companies, sellers and designers: various fabrics - wool,  alpaca,  angora,  cashmere,  cotton,  linen,  silk,  viscose,  acetate,  polyamide,  nylon, polyester,  triacetate  and  mixed  fiber  fabrics  for  the  sewing  and  manufacturing  of  men’s, women’s and children’s clothes, knitwear,  lingerie, bed-clothes and home  textiles, as well as sewing  accessories  and materials  exhibited  by  exhibition  participants  from Germany,  Italy, France, Sweden, Belarus, Uzbekistanand Lithuania.

Textile innovations at the Innovation Stand

The  novelty  of  the  exhibition  is  the  Innovation  Stand  that  is  established  by  the  Latvian TechnologicalCenter, the Enterprise Europe Business Network Latviain cooperation with the Latvian  Association  of  the  Textile  and  Clothing  Industry.  This  is  the  place  for  industry professionals  to  meet  all  parties  involved  in  the  textile  innovation  process  –  Experts  of education, research, patenting, incubation and other areas.

International match-making for business development

Fashion and textile industry representatives are invited to participate at b2b matchmaking on April  4 in order  to promote  the  increase of the production and export amounts. Matchmaking is  a  professional  business  platform  for  acquiring  new  business  contacts  and  cooperation partners.

Events for professionals

The  exhibition  also  offers  participation  in  a  conference,  workshops  and  discussions  about topical  issues  of  the  fashion  and  textile  industry  that  will  gather  entrepreneurs,  designers, association representatives and students.

On  April 4  visitors  are  invited  to  participate  at  the  conference  "Fashion  and Design: Trends,  Guidelines  and Funds  for  Export  Promotion".  Leading  European  fashion  and business experts, such as Judith Tolley, Manager of  the Creative  Industry  Incubator "Centerfor  Fashion  Enterprise"  (CFE)  from  Great  Britain,  Victoria  Diaz will share their experience on the ways of promoting brand export and popularity in  the  international  fashion market.

On April 4 there  is also a possibility  to discuss  the role of creativity and  innovations  in brand development by participating at  the seminar "Fashion. Creativity. Concept.”  Participation fee: 25 euros. 

On April 5 exhibition  visitors  are  offered  to  participate  at  the  informative  workshop "Intellectual  Property  in  the  Fashion  and  Textile  Industry.

Representatives of the Patent Office of Latvia will inform designers and other participants about design sample registration and the protection of intellectual property in the fashion and textile  industry. Participation at the workshop  is free.

Fashion that surprises and inspires at the competition "Habitus Baltija"

On April 5 fashion  shows  of  the Competition  for Young Fashion Designers  "Habitus Baltija 2014" will  take place during  the exhibition. Approximately 40 new  fashion artists  from more than 10 countries present their extraordinary and fascinating collections of clothes for the jury and  the  audience  every  year.
