Dynamo one loss away from elimination

On Tuesday, Latvian ice hockey club Riga Dynamo lost a crucial first-round Kontinental Ice Hockey League (KHL) playoff match to Ukrainian ice hockey club Donetsk ''Donbass'' 1:4.

With the loss, Dynamo is now on the brink of being eliminated from the playoff, as it is currently losing the best-of-seven series 1-3.

Gints Meija scored the lone goal for the Latvian club, with Teemu Laine, Maxim Yakutsenya and Sergei Varlamov scoring the goals for Donbass.

The fifth match of the series will be played on Thursday in Donetsk, reports LETA.

As reported, Dinamo lost the opening two games of the series in Donetsk 2:5 and 1:3, but won the third game 7:3 in Riga.

Dynamo ended the KHL's Western Conference in overall 5th place with 93 points from 54 matches, while Donbass finished in 4th place in the conference with 97 points in as many matches.
