The Estonian Saku Olletehas (Saku Brewery) beverages producer reported a 5.2 million euro net profit in 2013 on sales of 71 million euros, the latter up 5 percent, reports Postimees Online. Sales volume grew with the support of exports, to 104 million liters, exceeding all earlier years. “The record sales volume of 2013 consists of sales of beverages produced by us as well as outsourced products. Saku’s production volume was last year also at the highest level – 80 million liters of beverages, from beer to soft drinks,” said Saku Olletehas board chairman Margus Kastein. Kastein said that the brewer has managed to increase exports successfully in recent years and last year 50 percent of the volume of beverages produced by Saku was exported. Estonia’s own beer market was down slightly last year while the sale of cider and long drinks and soft drinks increased.
