Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite extended congratulations, on behalf of the Lithuanian people and on her own behalf, to President Toomas Hendrik Ilves of Estonia on the 96th anniversary of Estonia's Declaration of Independence, reports ELTA.

"The month of February carries special significance and meaning to both our countries and their citizens: we celebrate the anniversaries of national independence at almost the same time. May this togetherness bring our nations even closer as they work in partnership for the good of their people, collaborate within the Baltic Sea region, and pool efforts in the European Union and the world," the president wrote in her message of congratulations.

Grybauskaite wished much joy, continued health and happiness to Estonia's president as well as prosperity and well-being to his country.
