Island ice roads open in Estonia

The ice road between Estonia's largest islands Saaremaa and Hiiumaa opened on Friday. The route is nearly 17 km long according to Postimees Online.

The entrances to the ice road are in the Triigi port in Saaremaa and Tärkma village in Hiiumaa, reports LETA.

The ice road is open at 8.00-17.00. Vehicles with real mass of up to 2.5 tonnes can use it.

The last time the ice road was open was in 2011.
