Kusins appointed constitutional court judge for next ten years

Latvia's government have confirmed the Parliament's Legal Affairs Bureau head Gunars Kusins as the next Constitutional Court judge today.

Kusins was jointly nominated for the post by representatives from Unity, the Reform Party, All for Latvia!-For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK, the Union of Greens and Farmers and independent MPs.

Current Constitutional Court Chairman Gunars Kutris' term will end on Feb. 5, thus a seat of the Constitutional Court will become vacant.

Constitutional Court judges are confirmed by Saeima for a period of ten years.
