Estonian foreign minister Urmas Paet has confirmed Russia's willingness to sign a border agreement.
Paet held a phone call with Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov. Issues discussed included border agreement plans, a diplomatic real estate agreement and protocol of activities between the foreign ministries, , Public Broadcasting reports.
The message of Lavrov to Paet was that everything is ready on the Russian side for concluding the agreements and now, the suitable time for it could be discussed. Paet said that it is a matter of coordination when the three agreements could be signed.
"As to the border agreement, Russia has concluded its domestic coordination rounds, thus now we can start looking for a suitable date," said Paet.
Paet added that Estonia has submitted Lavrov an invitation to visit Estonia for that purpose.
