The Mayor of Tallinn and President of the Estonian Skating Union Edgar Savisaar will attend opening of Sochi Olympics but it isn’t known yet whether he would stay there to watch competitions, Postimees Online reports.

"These plans are being compiled at the moment. We know so much that the mayor will attend the opening ceremony of the Sochi Olympics. Further plans are being prepared," the city of Tallinn press service Raepress's manager Alar Rästa said at a press conference.

It has been reported that Estonian prime minister Andrus Ansip will attend the opening of the Sochi Olympic games as part of his vacation plans. President Toomas Hendrik Ilves will not attend the ceremony.

Top officials, including Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaite have also refused to attend the games over Russia's human rights record and the security situation following twin suicide bombs in nearby locations.
