Arvo Pärt tops classical music list for third year running

Legendary Estonian composer Arvo Pärt is the most popular living composer to be played most frequently at concerts, a leading music website shows.

According to the world's biggest classical music portal Bachtrack, the works of Pärt climbed from the 54th to 38th position in the total list of most performed composers last year.

Mozart was the most popular author played in concert halls in 2013, followed by Beethoven and Bach.

Among living composers, Pärt was followed by British composer James MacMillan on the 45th and film composer John Williams on the 77th place.
