Lithuania set to form ties with Fiji

Lithuania is set establish the diplomatic relations with the Republic of Fiji.

Officials are set to discuss the diplomatic relations with the Pacific island on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

Lithuania currently maintains  diplomatic relations with five of Oceania's countries.

The support for the multilateral initiatives in the U.N. activities of the Republic of Fiji is important for Lithuania. Moreover, the establishment of the relations with the Republic of Fiji is important for regional cooperation in the context of the European Union (EU) foreign policy.
