Three free church concerts take place in Tallinn and Helsinki this week to commemorate the Riga Maxima store collapse victims, Postimees Online reports.
Estonian Music and Theatre Academy choir, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir soloists perform works of Monteverdi and Mozart as well as Estonian composer Esko Maimets' "Ave Maria". Conductors are Tõnu Kaljuste and students.
The call to commemorate the victims of the Riga catastrophe was made last week by Estonian Rotary clubs.
"These days the Latvian people are in a big mourning. We are with our neighbours in those hard moments and will look into the future together. Estonian and Latvian Rotary clubs call to support the education party of children who lost their parents in the accident," Estonian Rotary centre call states.
The concerts take place on Dec. 5 in Tallinn's Methodist Church, on Dec. 7 in Swedish St Michal's church in Tallinn and on Dec. 8, in the Helsinki Dome church.
Donations for the Riga accident victims can be made in the church, with phone payments and bank transfer to Eesti Rotary Keskus MTÜ. For more information visit here.
