Soviet occupation investigation committee to be formed

Establishment of the Investigation Association of the Soviet Occupation (S.O.T.A.) is planned for Monday, Dec. 2, in the Lithuanian Seimas. Together with this ceremony, the public meeting of the established association will be taking place.

It''s hoped issues related to ways to encourage the activity of the representatives of the history, science, culture, art, education and public sectors in the investigation and the commemorations of the history of the Soviet occupation of Lithuania will be discussed. Moreover, the people involved in the scientific research of the Soviet occupation as well as people operating in the borders of the association's objectives will have an opportunity to join the association.

The Constituent Assembly of the S.O.T.A. will be attended by Vytautas Landsbergis and Member of the Commission for the Rights and Affairs of Participants of Resistance to Occupation Regimes and Victims of Occupation Arvydas Anusauskas.
