LIEPAJA - Since the first batch of layoffs at financially troubled metallurgical company Liepajas metalurgs were started two weeks ago, 600 company workers have been laid-off, LETA was informed by head of the company’s trade union Janis Grava.Grava said that it is likely that the layoffs will continue, as 1,500 company workers are planned to be laid-off.The head of the trade union said that he does not have much information on the future plans of the laid-off workers.
