This week a joint sitting of the Seimas Committee on National Security and Defense and the Seimas Commission for Parliamentary Scrutiny of Criminal Intelligence is planning to continue considering the actions of law enforcement authorities during the investigation into the leak at the State Security Department (VSD).

During the sitting, a hearing of the representatives of news agency BNS is planned; Gediminas Grina, director of the VSD, is also invited to attend the sitting, which is going to be private, reports LETA.

The Seimas Commission for Parliamentary Scrutiny of Criminal Intelligence is set to find out if the VSD had not exceeded its powers while investigating the leak of a note. Meanwhile, the Seimas Committee on National Security and Defense was asked by Parliament Speaker Loreta Grauziniene to consider if officers of the Secret Investigation Service (STT) acted in accordance with the law.
