Three police officers in Latvia have been detained after accepting bribes, State Police have said.
The patrol officers were detained in Riga on Nov. 11 on suspicion of demanding and taking a 20 lat bribe in order not to write a ticket for minor hooliganism, reports LETA.
A criminal case has been launched whilst the the officers could face a prison sentence between two and ten years plus confiscation of property.
Fighting corruption within the police force is one the priorities set-out by the State Police this year.
