Estonia, Latvia in football friendlies

Estonia take on Azerbaijan whilst Latvia travel the Republic of Ireland for football friendlies tonight.

Injuries to the defensive line-up mean Estonia will be without captain Ragnar Klavan, but Konstantin Vassiljev is expected to start the team's last home game of the year. The previous seven home games have yielded two victories and two defeats, reports ERR.

Estonia's head coach Tarmo Rüütli said Artjom Artjunin and Mikk Reintam will begin in central defense, flanked by Gert Kams and Ken Kallaste, while Sergei Pareiko will stand between the posts.

In midfield, Vassiljev will be surrounded by Aleksandr Dmitrijev, Henrik Ojamaa and Dmitri Kruglov. Sergei Zenjov and Henri Anier are are expected to begin in attack.

Azerbaijan passed Estonia in the latest FIFA ranking, climbing to 88th, while Estonia is the last team in the top-100. On Tuesday, Estonia will travel to Liechtenstein (ranked 158th out of 209) for a game against one of the continent's weakest sides.

Latvia will take on the Republic of Ireland in a football friendly. The two sides will met at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin for the first time in 18 years.

The Republic of Ireland had the upper hand the last time the teams met, winning 2-1.
