Danske Bank reports earnings rebound

Danske Bank earned a net profit of 43.2 million euros in Estonia in the first nine months of this year, by around 15 million euros less than for the same time last year, reports Postimees Online.

The bank’s manager Aivar Rehe said that Danske preserved strong economic and financial effectiveness indicators in the third quarter. High liquidity of the bank enables it to support thoroughly planned lending activities, he added.

The bank’s return on equity was 70.5 percent and cost/income ratio was 32.4 percent.

Deposits by clients of the bank exceeded loan volume by 681 million euros on Sept. 30.

The bank has increased lending activities considerably, in the third quarter the company’s loan portfolio grew by 8 percent.
