Women make up 40 percent of candidate lists

VILNIUS - The leader of Lithuania’s Seimas opposition, Andrius Kubilius, and member of Parliament Audronius Azubalis addressed Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius and Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevicius, inviting them to joint consultations about Russia’s discriminatory actions, reports ELTA.

“The discrimination of Lithuanian citizens and businesspeople, lasting for over a month, on the Russian border and the new sanctions that block production exports to Russia is a convincing reason for taking immediate measures to defend Lithuania’s interest. The decisions and actions of Lithuanian politicians need to be decisive and coordinated. Therefore, we immediately invite beginning consultations between parties to discuss the strategic principles of Lithuanian policy regarding Russia, as well as the reaction to the current destruction of Lithuanian business. To achieve this we suggest holding the first meeting tomorrow at the agreed time,” said the representatives of the Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD) Party in their address.

Lithuania’s Minister of Agriculture Vigilijus Jukna had said that he had no official information about the suspension of imports of dairy products from Lithuania. “So far, we have not received any official confirmation about the suspension of imports [into Russia] of dairy products,” said Jukna at a press briefing after the Cabinet sitting on Oct. 7.
