Latvia beat neighbors Lithuania 2-1 as part of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers this weekend. Nauris Bulvitis and Arturs Zjuzins struck to hand former Latvia and Southhampton striker, Marian Pahars, his first win as manager of the national team. Deivydas Matulevicius scored just before half-time to give Lithuania hope.
The win has lifted Latvia to fourth in Group G. Latvia next plays Greece on Sept. 10, who currently lead the group.
