Yale chorus to perform

RIGA - The Yale Alumni Chorus from the prestigious Yale University in the U.S. will be performing a spectacular concert in Riga. The concert will feature special guest organist Diana Jaunzeme, with the major work of the evening, the Lux Aeterna by American composer Morten Lauridsen, performed.

This performance will be part of the Yale Alumni Chorus’ 15th Anniversary musical tour. And it is the first time for the Chorus, including its 125 members, to visit Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, countries known for their deep and storied music tradition.
Every summer, the International Organ Music Festival ‘Rigas Doms’ offers spiritual and emotional adventure to all classical music enthusiasts. The festival takes place in the Riga Dome Cathedral, one of the oldest churches in Old Riga.

The 26th International Organ Music Festival is dedicated to the commemoration of French composers Cesar Franck and Maurice Durufle. The leading organists from Latvia and other countries, soloists and choirs will perform in 13 concerts.
