WELL DESERVED: Band members say their latest album is one of perfection.

RIGA - One of the world’s most popular rock bands for the last few years, “The Killers,” which last year released their fourth studio album “Battle Born,” will give what is expected to be an amazing concert on June 26 in Riga at the Mezaparks open-air stage. Their latest album has been named after their Las Vegas studio, which is a very important fact in the group’s biography. As the group members say, the name for the new album is well deserved.

Brandon Flowers shares that: “This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, no question. It’s the longest we’ve ever taken to make a record, and the longest I’ve ever spent on the lyrics. I would like to say that we have reached perfection itself.”
As the latest studio album “Battle Born” has been released and has become the best combination created by the band, all band members passionately wish to take the road and re-introduce the world to “The Killers,” starting with a series of American and European concert shows in summer 2013.

“The Killers” was formed in 2001, in Las Vegas. There are only a few bands that were created in the early 2000s or during the last 10 - 15 years who gained such popularity as they have. Their debut album “Hot Fuss” became one of 2004’s most popular music releases with four singles and the presentation of the band itself - particularly their dandyish front-man Brandon Flowers - stepping into the international spotlight. “Hot Fuss” made great advances in the band’s hometown Las Vegas, contributing to a virtually impossible dance-punk revival. In 2005 “The Killers” won their first Grammy Award.

In February 2010, when “The Killers” had returned from numerous concerts and trips, which made up their 18-month world tour, they were at a crossroads. They sold over 15 million copies of “Hot Fuss,” “Sam’s Town” and “Day & Age,” visited every corner of the globe, and become one of the world’s most popular rock bands, but they found themselves needing time to put everything into perspective and to take a break from each other and from the trips.

Musicians recognize that this break was very helpful - at that time Brandon, Mark and Ronnie devoted themselves to solo projects, after a while coming together for the festival in Chile and realizing the need to create new songs. After a few days, the song, which was created by combined efforts, was “Battle Born’s” lead single “Runaways.”
“The Killers” up to this day have released numerous hit singles - four studio albums, one compilation and one live record, and received two BRIT awards, 7 Grammy nominations and sold over 16 million records worldwide. The band has received NME, Brit, MTV Europe and MTV Video awards.

Don’t miss a chance to visit “The Killers” concert and see and listen to their new international hits like “Miss Atomic Bomb” and “Here with Me,” along with the beloved hits such as “Somebody Told Me,” “Mr. Brightside,” “Read My Mind,” “Human,” “When You Were Young” and many others. On this summer night rock will be in the air!
