Lithuanian companies show their stuff in Israel

VILNIUS - Enterprise Lithuania in cooperation with the Lithuanian Embassy in Israel organized the participation of five Lithuanian companies in one of the world’s largest life science exhibitions, IATI-BIOMED 2013, which took place in Tel Aviv on June 10-12, reports ELTA. Along with the representatives from other countries, Lithuanian companies ProBioSanus, Biotechpharma, Ekspla, MedSiNet LT and Optolita presented their achievements and products. The Lithuanian delegation also actively promoted the Life Science Baltic 2014 forum, which will be held in Vilnius on Sept. 10-12, 2014.

Intensive Lithuanian-Israeli cooperation in the field of life sciences started last year when a delegation of more than 100 businesspeople and scientists from Israel attended the first life sciences forum in Vilnius Life Science Baltic 2012, organized by Enterprise Lithuania. A keynote speech at the forum was made by Nobel Prize winner Israeli professor Ada E. Yonatan.

Israeli companies are actively interested in Lithuania - venture capital funds and their companies are interested in investment opportunities, their life science companies seek cooperation with Lithuanian companies in research, and a number of Israeli companies are already conducting clinical trials of innovative products in Lithuania.
A recently signed agreement between the governments of Israel and Lithuania on bilateral cooperation in industrial research and development opens up new cooperation opportunities. According to the agreement, joint projects of the Lithuanian - Israeli companies can be partially funded by the two states.
