ROAD HOG: Rally participants had the road to themselves.

RIGA - This year’s Gumball 3000 rally rode through Riga on May 21, as they celebrated the 15th anniversary of the event. Hundreds of car enthusiasts lined Elizabetes street in the intermittent rain watching the souped up cars and celebrities parade by.

The rally, starting in Copenhagen and running for seven days, passed through 13 states covering 5,000 km. It started on May 19, ending the tour in Monaco, reported LETA.
Not all was smooth sailing, as speeding tickets in Finland and Estonia, Russian border crossing difficulties, and an expensive crash (no injuries) on a rain-slicked highway in rural Latvia added to the fun.

In Riga, the participants and fans partied the night away at the restaurant Biblioteka and nightclub Coyote Fly. Music superstar Eve, supercar ‘KITT’ driver David Hasselhoff, ‘Pimp My Ride’ star Xzibit, The Dudesons and other adventurers joined the festivities.
